Blind Business


Midias Mukura a mother of three children became blind at the age of six after pepper was put in her eyes by an unknown person. Midias joined Bushenyi Women with Disabilities Association where she was given skills on economic empowerment. As a subsistence farmer, she used the skills attained to make her crops for commercial use. She grows matooke which she reaps, dries and later sells in the market. She confessed “I can now earn some money which am saving to buy my own piece of land so as to become an independent woman with disability”
Midias appreciated NUWODU for the exposure through training as she now lives with dignity.
