Menstrual Hygiene

“Menstruation matters to everyone, everywhere.”

28th May was a gazzated day worldwide to celebrate the Menstrual Health and Hygiene of Girls and women. The day enables every girl and woman to understand how they can manage their menstruation in a hygienic way-wherever she is-in privacy, safety and dignity.
This day is memorable as challenges related to hygiene during menstruation period for Girls and Women with disabilities were discussed on radio hence making policy makers and service providers understand the need to support Girls for their school retention.
Government has strengthened this call through PIASCY were sex education is talked about and girls are sensitized on growing up,  puberty, with menstruation being apart and the provision of a subvention grant to support the purchase and provision of sanitary towels to girls, equipped schools with spacious toilets to enable ease of movement for girls with disabilities.
