Humanitarian Acts on Inclusion of Refugee Women with Disabilities.

Refugee Women with Disabilities during the discourse

Following the Network of African Women with Disabilities Workshop in January 2015, humanitarian actors saw the need for inclusion of Refugee Women with Disabilities in the design and development stages of national programs for their sustainability.

They committed themselves to the creation of revolving funds, training in vocational skills, psychological support, advocacy and free legal aid amongst others to see to the welfare of Refugee Women with Disabilities.

Office of The Prime Minister and UNHCR appealed to refugee women with disabilities to take advantage of the currently available opportunities availed to them in Uganda’s refugee friendly climate. It is a chance for them to thrive if used right and not taken for granted.
